HOW DO OUR AIRBAG VESTS WORK?
Get your questions answered about maintenance, certifications, and why a vest with integrated airbag without subscriptions is the best investment for your safety on the road.
How does a mechanical motorcycle airbag vest work?
Our vests operate with 100% mechanical and highly reliable power , eliminating the risk of battery failure or electronic malfunctions while riding. The vest connects to your motorcycle's frame via a high-strength elastic strap. In the event of an accident or ejection, the extreme tension pulls the firing pin and punctures the CO2 cartridge. This inflates the protective airbag in just 0.09 seconds , immobilizing your neck and absorbing the impact on your chest and back before you hit the ground.
Does the motorcycle airbag vest go over or under the jacket?
Our airbag vests are designed to be worn over (on the outside) your regular motorcycle jacket. By wearing it as the outermost layer (especially with heavy-duty models like the WISE VEST or SMART VEST), you ensure the airbag has 100% free space to expand in just 0.09 seconds and effectively protect your neck, back, and chest without the restriction of a rigid garment on top.
Will the airbag inflate accidentally if I get off the motorcycle and forget to unhook myself?
It's one of the most common questions, but you can rest assured! The mechanical system of our vests requires considerable pulling force (approximately 25 to 30 kg) for the trigger to activate. If you forget to release the strap when getting off the motorcycle, you'll feel a strong pull reminding you that you're still strapped in, but the airbag won't deploy due to a simple oversight .
Do I have to pay a monthly or annual subscription to use the vest?
Absolutely not. Unlike most electronic systems that require monthly fees to operate, AIROBAG airbag vests are 100% mechanical and subscription-free . Once you purchase your vest, the EN1621-4 certified technology is yours forever, with no hidden costs, no reliance on batteries, and no software updates.
If I fall and the vest activates, do I have to buy a new one?
No, our vests are designed to be completely reusable . If you have a fall (and the outer fabric hasn't suffered structural damage that compromises the garment), you can reactivate the system yourself in under 2 minutes. You just need to unscrew the used CO2 cartridge and insert a new one. Plus, we have the lowest refill cost on the market: less than $5 USD .
Can I wear a backpack over the airbag vest?
Yes, you can wear a backpack over your airbag vest, but with one important condition for your safety: the straps must be loose . The vest needs physical space to inflate and stabilize your helmet and neck. If you wear an excessively heavy backpack or one strapped too tightly to your chest, it could limit or delay the proper expansion of the airbag.
